Police seek information in March fatal shooting death

Up to $5,000 reward offered for arrest in death of Marcus Lavey Cummings

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are asking for the public's help in helping them solve a shooting that left a 20-year-old man dead.

Police said that at around 8:30 p.m. on March 5, Marcus Lavey Cummings was talking with some friends in the 8800 block of Meadow Trace when someone in a dark-colored SUV or pickup truck opened fire, police said.

Cummings was hit by several bullets and died at the scene, police said. A 17-year-old female bystander was also wounded, police said.

The motive for the shooting has not been established.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
