‘Rolling disturbance' ends with car hit with 15-20 bullets, 2 people hit

SAPD believe victims and shooter knew each other

SAN ANTONIO – Two people were rushed to the hospital after the car they were in was riddled with as many as 20 bullets Monday night.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of Thousand Oaks Drive and Nacogdoches Road, near a popular shopping complex with a bowling alley and restaurant.

Police said a man and woman were inside the car when shots rang out just after 8 p.m. The man was shot in the head and the woman, the passenger, was hit in her neck.

The man was driving the car, and crashed into a light pole.

"It's still an ongoing investigation,” San Antonio police Sgt. Edward Rodriguez said. “It sounds like they know who shot at them (and it) may have been a rolling disturbance, an argument that, something that started elsewhere."

Police continued to collect evidence and shell casings well after the shooting.

Though police have little information, they said they believe the victims and shooter knew each other.
