SA middle school alerts parents after student approached by man in truck

Man whistles at middle school student, asks her to get in his truck

SAN ANTONIO – An unidentified female student was walking home from Bradley Middle School this week when a man in a red truck reportedly pulled up next to her.

The man whistled at the student and asked her if she wanted a ride, according to Bradley Middle School Principal Todd Bloomer who sent a letter to parents Thursday.

"It was reported to me that one of our students was walking home this week when she was approached by a man in a vehicle,” Bloomer wrote in part.

The student took off running and the truck drove off.

She was not hurt during the incident and told her mother as soon as she got home.

Her mother then called the school, prompting Bloomer’s email to parents:

"Safety is my highest priority and I know it is for you too. This may be a good opportunity to remind your children about stranger danger. We have alerted the North East Police Department of this incident and asked for extra patrols in our area,” Bloomer wrote.

Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact Bradley Middle School’s administrative team.

This is the second reported incident this week of a man approaching a student. Read more about the first incident here.
