SAN ANTONIO - Vanessa Ann Luna, 24, is accused of taking part in the kidnapping and torture of a Corpus Christi man.

She was arrested in San Antonio Wednesday on a charge of aggravated kidnapping.

San Antonio police said the 28-year-old victim told them he was held against his will for several days by a group of people.

He said he was beaten so hard that he "thought his face was broken," burned with a flat iron and forced to withdraw money from his bank account.

Officer Douglas Greene, a spokesman for the San Antonio Police Department, said the man -- whose name is being withheld due to the nature of the crime -- told detectives his troubles began after he met up with a woman on an Internet site called Backpage, which he claimed is known for advertising escorts for hire.

A police report stated that the man admitted to having sex with the woman in a Corpus Christi hotel.

Afterward, he said, a man who had been hiding in a closet or bathroom walked out and began hitting and kicking him, the report stated.

The victim told police the woman then burned him on his face with a hot flat iron, the report stated.

He also told police he was placed into his own car, then driven to San Antonio where the abuse continued in two different locations, the report stated.

"We don't know what was going on in the minds of these actors," said Greene. "We do know that money was taken from the victim and that the victim was tortured. We are thankful that the victim is alive."

According to the police report, the man was able to get to the nearby home of a stranger last Friday, and that person then called for help.

Greene said a warrant later was issued for Luna's arrest, and she was taken into custody on Tuesday.

The police report did not state which role Luna allegedly played in the crime.

However, after her arrest she denied being involved in his kidnapping.

"The only thing I tried to do is help him," Luna said to reporters, as she was led away in handcuffs. "I tried to help him."

Additionally, police are still looking for two men in connection with the case: Christopher Perez, 30, (pictured below) and a man who goes by the name of "Popeye."
