SAN ANTONIO – The cause of a fire that destroyed a day care on the city's Northeast Side may never be known, San Antonio fire officials said.
"Due to the significant damage of Bright Kids Daycare, the official cause will remain undetermined," fire spokesman Woody Woodward said Wednesday.

The day care in the 3900 block of Thousand Oaks Drive went up in flames Aug. 1.
More than 60 of children and nine staff members safely evacuated the building before fire engulfed the day care.
No injuries were reported.

Crews began tearing down what was left of the building last week.
