Human remains found near Salado Creek Greenway

SAPD: Not full set of remains

SAN ANTONIO – Two people walking near the Salado Creek Greenway Thursday evening found skeletal remains.

The remains were found in a wooded area between the greenway path and Holbrook Road, just north of Eisenhauer Road.

Police received the call about 5:45 p.m. Homicide and crime scene investigators were called out after responding officers found the remains, with what appeared to be male clothing, near Salado Creek.

A police spokesman said it was not a full set of remains but would not elaborate what was missing.

“From what we can tell, it's probably been there for a long time. We've had some storms come through here and a lot of things could have been disturbed or moved,” said Officer Doug Greene, with the San Antonio Police Department. “It appears that the body was lying there near the creek with the clothing around it."

Greene said other remains were found nearby, but police aren’t sure if those are human remains. The medical examiner will work to identify all the remains and determine a cause of death.
