SAPD: 2 men on the run after fatally shooting man on city's far West Side

Shooting happened in 10000 block of Culebra Road

SAN ANTONIO – A man was shot and killed after he had an argument with two men Thursday on the city's far West Side, according to police.

The men remain at large and were last seen speeding off in a maroon vehicle.

Around 1:47 p.m., officers responded to the shooting in the 10000 block of Culebra Road, which is near Loop 1604.

Jennifer Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the San Antonio Police Department, said the man was found dead, with a gunshot wound, in the parking lot of a vacant gas station.

Rodriguez said that, after they fatally shot the victim, who was inside a white Ford Expedition, the two men were seen leaving the scene.

After being shot, the man crashed the Expedition into the vacant gas station building, where officers later found him dead, Rodriguez said.

A gun magazine, bullets and what appeared to be two sandwhich bags filled with marijuana were found near the crash site.

The man has yet to be identified, Rodriguez said.

The shooting in broad daylight left witnesses in shock.

"It's traumatizing to say the least. One second, you're minding your business, next second, it's everything is complete chaos," said Logan Snelling, a witness.
