SEGUIN, Texas – A Seguin High School student who shot himself outside the school Friday morning has died, said Seguin Independent School District spokesman Sean Hoffman.
The student was identified as Isaac Herrera, 18, a senior. He was discovered outside the school with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Hoffman said.

Herrera was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he died, Hoffman said.
An official with the Seguin Police Department said Herrera was the son of a Seguin police officer.
Police were called to the high school around 9:30 a.m. after Herrera was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Seguin ISD officials said Herrera was transported to San Antonio Military Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the head. Police said he died just after 11 a.m.
As a precaution, the school was placed under a partial lockdown. Parents were being allowed to sign out their kids, school officials said.
"We believe that this is an isolated incident and want to ensure the community that our students and staff are not in danger at this time," said Guadalupe Gorordo, Seguin ISD interim superintendent.
Christina Cantu, a parent, said she showed up to the school to find out what happened after she heard there was a shooting.
"My sister just told me it was a shooting," said Cantu. "They didn't know if it was one person, two persons. It's scary. I was just sitting at home folding laundry and I get a text -- shooting at my son's school. He's only 14 so, that's a little scary."
