The Thunderbirds will headline an air show and open house at Joint Base San Antonio- Randolph this weekend, after last being in the Alamo City in 2011. The air show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, with rehearsals being held Friday.

“We're thrilled to have this opportunity to put on an air show for San Antonio, the region of San Antonio, and the state of Texas, quite frankly, because it has been too long,” said Brig. Gen. Bob Labrutta, 502nd Air Base Wing commander.

Hammon, the first female ever hired as a coach in the National Basketball Association and a former WNBA all-star, is entering her second season with the Spurs. She played professionally until July, 2014, and was hired by Spurs' head coach Gregg Popovich soon thereafter.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
