The weather has always been my passion and the past 22 years I have seen a dream come true and have been able to make a living doing what I love so much. I have worked and had fun with some of the finest broadcast journalists in the country and have seen a great organization earn the ratings success it deserves in one of the fastest growing markets in the country.
Our success has led to a tremendous expansion of our local news programming the past few years and the increasing schedule burden has left me understanding my own physical limits. Father time and constant deadline pressure was taking a toll leaving me with the realization that it is time to ask for help. KSAT management and I worked together with the understanding that there is plenty of work to go around. We have agreed that I will continue my duties on the expanded Nightbeat at 10 pm and meteorologist Adam Caskey will take over the 5 and 6 pm weathercasts. Adam is an eminently qualified, experienced, broadcast meteorologist who shares my passion for the weather and I believe he has a great opportunity to continue our success on those early evening broadcasts.
KSAT will now have six qualified meteorologists and the largest broadcast weather department in south Texas. I will have more time to pursue other interests. I am not retiring, just stepping back. I truly believe this is a win win situation for all involved and look forward to the future.
