Suspect arrested 3 years after woman found murdered in SW Bexar County home

Leroy Sanchez Jr., 29, charged with murder of Gabriella Sandoval, 22

SAN ANTONIO – Three years after a woman was found dead inside a southwest Bexar County home, deputies have arrested the man they believe killed her.

Leroy Sanchez Jr., 29, is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Gabriela Sandoval.

KSAT 12 News has been covering this story since Sandoval’s body was found by a relative inside a home on Cache Path on April 12, 2014. Sandoval had stab wounds all over her body.

According to an arrest affidavit, Sanchez was Sandoval’s ex-boyfriend of and they had two children together.

Sanchez is said to have been the last person seen with Sandoval. DNA evidence led to his arrest.

According to arrest reports, Sanchez has a previous conviction for family assault on Sandoval in 2010.

Sanchez, who was in state custody for an unrelated crime, was transferred back to Bexar County Tuesday afternoon.
