Suspect's muscular body helps police tie him to murder case

Roger Garza, 19, linked to West side shooting death

SAN ANTONIO – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting on the West Side earlier this month.

San Antonio police said Roger Garza, 19, matches the description that witnesses gave of a muscular man. They said he also owns a silver car similar to one seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting.

An arrest warrant affidavit said Garza is one of three people who police have linked to the Sept. 12 murder of Aaron Pernell Watson, 26.

Watson was shot and killed on the porch of a home in the 2900 block of W. Salinas.

Soon after the murder, police arrested one suspect, Ernest Borrego, 23. It appears they are still looking for a third suspect.

The affidavit said police tracked down Garza at court where he was scheduled to attend an unrelated hearing.

It said when investigators questioned him, he broke down crying, saying that he didn't want to go to jail.

Garza was booked into the Bexar County jail Thursday with his bond set at $125,000.
