SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas – Vice President Mike Pence, Second Lady Karen Pence and Texas Governor Greg Abbott will be in attendance Wednesday night for a prayer service taking place for the victims of the mass shooting in Sutherland Springs.
Doors will open to the public at the Floresville High School stadium, Eschenburg Field at 5 p.m.
The prayer service will conclude a day's events for the vice president and second lady. They first will visit victims of the First Baptist Church shooting at Brooke Army Medical Center and then visit with families of the victims before participating in a briefing with local law enforcement officials.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Congressman Will Hurd (R-TX), and Congressman Henry Cuellar (D-TX) will all make an appearance as well.
Organizers of the prayer service said there will tight security and tell the public not to bring bags or purses to speed up the check in process. Signs and stadium seats will not be allowed.
The Floresville Independent School District announced that all elementary, middle school and high school students will be dismissed early in preparation for the event.
Elementary students will be released at 11:40 a.m. with the middle school students at 12:45 p.m. and the high school students at 12:15 p.m. Regular bus routes will be in place to pick up the students, the district said.
