Teen charged in hit-and-run that severely injured skateboarder

Nathan Losoya, 19, accused in hit-and-run caught on camera

SAN ANTONIO – Ashley Martinez's family was filled with relief on Tuesday after learning an arrest had been made in a hit-and-run that seriously injured Martinez.

The Lonestar Fugitive Taskforce apprehended 19-year-old Nathan Thomas Losoya on Tuesday and charged him with failure to stop and render aid causing serious bodily injury.

Losoya is believed to have been the driver who ran over Martinez on September 20, leaving her with a dozen fractures and road rash all over her body.

Prior to the arrest, Martinez told KSAT 12 all she wanted was an apology from the driver who hit her.

SAPD spokeswoman Michelle Ramos said Martinez is lucky to be alive.

"I have at least a dozen fractures, from head to toe," Martinez said. "From my eye sockets to my nose, my shoulder, both my hips, upper ribs and my knee."

Losoya was picked up on the Northside on Tuesday and taken in for questioning and was charged Tuesday morning.

This arrest, however, isn't Losoya's first run in with the law. Losoya has a criminal history.

KSAT 12 reported back in November that he was arrested for an ambush on two men.

He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly holding one man at gunpoint and shooting at the victim's car.

It's unclear if authorities will pursue charges against Losoya's passenger. Ramos said traffic investigators are still investigating the hit-and-run, which was caught on camera.
