A Reagan High School student on Tuesday donated 200 blankets for abused and neglected children who live at the the Roy Maas Youth Alternatives emergency shelter.

Samantha Sanchez, 16, provided the fleece blankets from her nonprofit organization, Sam's Covers, that she founded when she was 12-years-old.

The nonprofit has donated more than 1,500 blankets since the nonprofit was founded.

"I like the ideas of blankets, so I  wanted to implement that for kids that are homeless or at risk for homelessness, and I just found agencies in San Antonio that I like what they're about," Samantha said.
