Teenager dies after bike hit by truck

Medical examiner says family made decision to disconnect life support

SAN ANTONIO – A teenager critically injured in a bike crash has died after his family made the decision to disconnect life support, the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office said Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Kenneth Hardaway had been hospitalized since a truck collided with his bike on Monday.

The Medical Examiner's office confirmed Hardaway had been declared dead at University Hospital after the life support was disconnected Saturday.

Police say a pick-up driver ran into Hardaway while he rode with other bicyclists in the 6200 block of Ingram Road.

Investigators did not expect the truck driver to face charges.
