Texas Transportation Museum offers reduced admission for school supply donations

Museum includes train rides, 1929 Ford Model A school bus

SAN ANTONIO – The Texas Transportation Museum is hosting a school supply drive Saturday and Sunday with reduced admission in exchange for donations worth more than $10.

Admission to the museum at 11731 Wetmore Road will be reduced to $6 per adult, $4 per child or $18 for a family of two adults and up to five children ages 12 and younger.

The museum offers many exhibits, including train rides that start at every hour beginning at 10:30 a.m.

During the event on Saturday and Sunday, and again on July 30 and 31, museum visitors can also see a 1929 Ford Model A school bus loaned to the museum for the school supply drive by Dr. Rodolfo Santascoy.

The "Stuff the Bus" school supply drive is part of a partnership between the museum and Communities in Schools San Antonio.

CISSA will distribute school supply boxes filled with items valued at $20 to students around San Antonio.

Donations can also be made with cash, check or a credit/debit card, with donations of $10 or more receiving the same reduced admission rates.

The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
