SAN ANTONIO – There could soon be a third candidate in the race for San Antonio mayor. Bexar County Democratic Party Chairman Manuel Medina’s exploratory committee is officially on the books.
On Friday morning, Medina appointed a campaign treasurer with the city clerk.

Filing a campaign treasurer allows prospective candidates to start raising and spending money on a potential run for public office.
The San Antonio mayoral election is scheduled for May 6. Currently, Mayor Ivy Taylor is running for re-election and District 8 Councilman Ron Nirenberg is also running.
