SAN ANTONIO – H-E-B gave an update on Spurs legend Tim Duncan's relief trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands on Sunday, reporting that it had donated nearly 400,000 pounds of food with the help of the food bank and H-E-B customers.

Duncan also partnered with FedEx to get supplies and food to the U.S. Virgin Islands. Duncan and volunteers left for the islands on Saturday.

Duncan said while his donation campaign has raised $2.8 million, it's not enough for the growing needs of the islands after they were devastated by two hurricanes.

Prior to leaving, Duncan and his team spoke with KSAT about their goals for the trip.

"We will look to feed about 10,000 people in two days, so we will find two big distribution centers ... and we will do about 5,000 people on Sunday and about 5,000 on Monday, getting them emergency food boxes," Michael Guerra with the San Antonio Food Bank said.

Duncan has been traveling between the islands and San Antonio since the beginning of September.

"The luxuries of life that people take for granted are all gone," Duncan said of the island's condition.

Duncan is still accepting donations through his YouCaring page which has accrued more than $2.8 million in donations.
