Uber partnering with San Antonio mayor, Brooks City Base to offer 'work on demand'

Initiative will sign up 10,000 new drivers within the next year

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor, Brooks City Base and Uber San Antonio on Wednesday will announce a new initiative to sign up 10,000 new drivers in San Antonio within the next 12 months.

A driver recruitment event where people can learn more about partnering with Uber is being held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

The event is being held at the TriPoint Event Center, located at 3233 North St. Mary's Street.

The event will highlight UberMILITARY, a program to introduce service members, veterans and military spouses to Uber and empower them as entrepreneurs and small business owners.
