Universal City man drowns in Comal River

Victim identified as Curtis Goldman, 47

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – A 47-year old man from Universal City drowned Monday in the Comal River in New Braunfels.

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, family members reported that Curtis Goldman was last seen in the area of the river just upstream from the last public exit.

A New Braunfels Fire Department dive team searched until dark, police said.

A civilian snorkeler reported to authorities around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday that he had discovered a body underwater. The dive team found Goldman's body, police said.

The drowning has been determined to be accidental, police said.
