U.S. Military Parade Association raises funds for Veterans Day Parade

Parade to be held Nov. 12 in front yard of Alamo

SAN ANTONIO – The U.S. Military Parade Association sold plates Saturday to fund the annual Veterans Day Parade.

The organization was selling plates at Chef Jerry’s Steakhouse on Fredericksburg Road from noon to 4 p.m.

The association puts on the only veterans parade in San Antonio. The parade happens every year, but this year, the association said it needed a little help funding it.

“We use the money to cover the expenses to put on a great parade to honor our  veterans who are serving, are still serving, you know, defending our freedom,” said Esther Garcia, vice president of the U.S. Military Parade Association.

This year’s parade will be held Nov. 12 in the front yard of the Alamo. A wreath ceremony will kick off events at 10 a.m. followed by the parade at noon.
