It is unknown how long woman had been dead

SAN ANTONIO – A welfare check Sunday ended with Bexar County sheriff’s deputies finding a woman’s body inside a home.

Deputies said the victim's mother called and asked them to check on her daughter after she had not heard from her.

When deputies arrived at the home in the 8100 block of Chestnut Barr Drive Sunday evening they found the woman's body inside.

The home is in an unincorporated area between Converse and San Antonio in northeast Bexar County.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim, in her 20s, appeared to have head trauma. The home had also been ransacked.

Deputies said they were looking for suspect(s) in connection with the crime.

It was unclear how long the woman had been dead. The Sheriff's Office is calling this a homicide investigation.
