Woman accused of paying daughter's tuition on stolen credit card

Credit card belonged to Donna Adames' former boss

SAN ANTONIO – Olmos Park police have arrested a woman who allegedly used someone else's credit card to make more than $15,000 in purchases. 

Donna Adames, 51, was taken into custody Tuesday on a charge of credit card abuse.

Police said of the transactions she made, for more than $10,000 alone, was the payment of her daughter's college tuition.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Adames once worked for the victim, the owner of the credit card.

That woman told police she noticed an unusual transaction on her account made in late September.

She said she researched the issue and discovered there were 27 unauthorized purchase in all, totaling more than $15,000.

The affidavit said when she investigated the $10,000 transaction, she found a link to Adames.

Police expect to file more charges against Adames, the affidavit says.
