SAN FRANCISCO – A woman said she escaped an attempted mugging using a move she learned from watching Law and Order.
Julie Dragland, 32, was riding a BART train in San Francisco when a woman sitting behind her dropped a note in her lap saying there were two guns pointed at her and to hand over her belongings if she wanted to live.

Dragland posted a photo of the note which read:
There are 2 guns pointed at you now,” the note read. “If you want to live hand back your wallet + phone NOW + do not turn around and be descreet. Do not turn around until after you have left civic center + you will live.
Dragland told SF Gate that while her rule during a robbery is to hand over her belongings and protect her life, she surprised herself with her quick thinking during the attempted attack and faked a seizure to get the attention of those around her.
“I think it had something to do with watching a lot of ‘Law & Order.’ I think I saw that in an episode," Dragland said. "I was very impressed with myself.”
Dragland told SF Gate she closed her eyes and shook violently until someone came to her aid and she handed the individual the note placed in her lap. She suspects the woman got off at the next stop.
