Woman identifies boyfriend's accused killer in court

Michael Enoch on trial for shooting death of Darrel Gentry

SAN ANTONIO – A 40-year-old woman Tuesday identified the man who prosecutors said fatally shot her boyfriend.

Tomisha Tomlin pointed the finger at Michael Enoch, who is on trial for the Oct. 12, 2016 slaying of Darrel Gentry, 29.

"He's sitting right there," Tomlin testified. "He has on a black suit with a white shirt and glasses on."

Tomlin said that Enoch was angry when he confronted the couple and had a loud quarrel with them in the parking lot of an East Side apartment complex.

As both men exchanged words, Tomlin said she stepped between them.

"(Enoch) just pulled a gun out of his pants and I asked him not to shoot, this was uncalled for," Tomlin testified. "And so, when Darrel pushed me out of the way, that's when he shot him. I just started crying and he fell to the ground, and I just fell with him."

Enoch was arrested and charged with murder two days later when Tomlin and another witness, Evelyn Ynostroso, identified the defendant as Gentry's killer.

Testimony is expected to continue Wednesday in Felony Impact Court before Judge Laura Parker.

Enoch is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison if he is convicted on the murder charge.

This is the second time Enoch is on trial for the slaying. His first trial in September 2017 ended in a mistrial.
