Tammy Mowles with Spirit Halloween Superstores has a few tips and tricks for finding a costume. To beat the crowds of costume shoppers, it’s best to shop during the day. Mowles also stresses starting your costume search early in October.
If you do find yourself without a costume on the 31st, don’t panic! For last-minute shoppers, it’s important to consider costumes that come complete and include accessories, such as shoes or jewelry.
That way, “all you need to do is buy some eyelashes and you’re ready to go!” Mowles said.
If you’re still deciding on what your costume will be, consider what’s popular this year. Superheroes and Disney princesses are sure to be some of the most in-demand costumes this Halloween.
Another growing trend involves parents coordinating costumes with their children.
“Halloween is for adults now, too,” said Mowles -- so don’t be afraid to wear a costume all “Halloweekend” long!
