UIW students design clothing line for upcoming Cutting Edge Fashion Show
SAN ANTONIO – It’s almost time for the annual Cutting Edge fashion show at the University of the Incarnate Word, an event that fashion design students have been preparing for months.
Students at UIW produce the entire show. The garments are created by seniors, and the show itself is organized by younger students.
The seniors designed a collection of eight garments each. Their designs are a part of their portfolios, which they can show to prospective employers.
The students created looks inspired by movies, parts of the world, nature, and more.
“We’re taking everything that we’ve learned over these four years and we get to apply it to our own show,” student designer Rebekah Caldera said.
Another student designer, Alejandro Charles, said, “This experience has definitely been a journey, but it’s great to see our hard work come together.”
Don’t miss out on the fashion and fun at the UIW Cutting Edge Fiesta Fashion Show, which will take place on April 11 at the McCombs Center in the Rosenburg Sky Room. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Get there early to grab a seat and have a drink or two.
