Ford inspires local students to live their dreams through scholarships

SAN ANTONIO – Ford is driving a brighter future in San Antonio by investing in education.

This year, Ford Fund awarded $23,000 in scholarships for San Antonio area college students through their partnership with Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities and ¡Adelante! U.S. Education Leadership Fund.

This is in addition to $50,000 in scholarships that was awarded to San Antonio area high school seniors through Ford Driving Dreams

Brianna Chapa is one of the Ford Scholarship Winners. Ford gave her the scholarship, but also sponsored her attend the HACU Conference.

"It gave me a lot of confidence," said Chapa. "Hearing from leaders from all around the nation really impacted me and hearing their stories that they started just like me and now they are so successful kind of gave me peace of mind. None of that would have been possible without Ford sponsoring me and giving me the scholarship."

"They always say it takes a village and I want to just say thank you to Ford for helping me with my baby," said Arla Maldonado-Chapa, Brianna's Mother.
