AARP Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with free events

SAN ANTONIO – AARP is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by hosting free events all over San Antonio.

“San Antonio has the largest Hispanic population of any American city,” said AARP Volunteer Dr. Gloria Davila. “AARP is right in there with the Hispanic culture and heritage. We think it’s important to celebrate it.”

Their first event is A Night at the Drive-In. On September 21 at 7:30 p.m., AARP will screen “How to be a Latin Lover” starring Selma Hayak at Mission Marquee Plaza.

There are more free events, including a genealogy workshop, healthy cooking classes and an art tour.

To find more information and a full list of events, you can call (877) 926-8300 or you can go online to AARP.org/SAHeritage.
