Spreading PAWSitivity: Volunteers bring smiles with doggy joy

SAN ANTONIO

Where there’s a need for smiles and companionship, you’ll find Paws for Service.

“I think they are little angels,” volunteer Bernie Barnes said. “I think that they just bring such joy and comfort to people that it’s unconditional.”

There are over 150 volunteer teams across the San Antonio area and most recently they visited schools in Floresville to help the community heal from the Southerland Springs shooting.

“Either you forget about something or in the case of my darling high schooler, she was able to just kind if talk---you’re not being judged by anyone else and there’s just something that animals and dogs do, it’s doggie joy,” Leisa Parsons, Volunteer, said.
