RECIPES: Spicy valentine's treat with Twang

SAN ANTONIO – Spice up your Valentine's Day meal with a favor blast from Twang!

 

Quinoa Fruit Salad with Mango Chili ZAS!

Yield:  4 ½ cups (9-1/2 cup servings)
Serving Size:  1/2 cup
Prep Time:  5 mins.                                    
Cook Time:  12 mins.                                  
Total Time:  20 mins.


Ingredients:      
1 cup Quinoa, uncooked            
1 T Honey         
¼ cup EVOO    
2 T Lime juice    
1 T Mango Chili ZAS! 
1 ½ cup Strawberries, diced       
1 cup Blueberries          
1 Mango, diced
1 T Basil, chiffonade     
1 T Mint, chiffonade      
 

Directions:
1. Cook quinoa according to package instructions for 12 minutes, using 1 ½ cups water per 1 cup of quinoa.  Transfer to a metal bowl and set aside to cool for a few minutes.
2. In a small bowl, combine honey, oil, lime juice, and ZAS! Mango Chili.  Stir to combine and set aside.  
3. Once quinoa has cooled, add strawberries, blueberries, mango, reserved dressing, and herbs.  Toss until well combined.  
Tips:Recipe can be made in advance, without dressing and herbs, and stored in the refrigerator until needed.  Toss with dressing and herbs right before serving.


ZAS! Mango Chili Chocolate Fondue
Yield:  2 cups
Servings:  4-6 ea
Cook Time:  2 mins.                              
Total Time:  5 mins.
 

Ingredients:      
1 ½ cups Heavy cream  
12 oz. Semi-sweet chocolate chips         
1 tsp. Vanilla     
1 ½ T Mango Chili ZAS! 
 

Directions:
1. In a medium saucepan, bring the heavy cream to just below simmering over low heat.  Remove from heat and add chocolate chips, vanilla, and ZAS! Mango Chili.  Stir well until completely combined. 
2. Serve in a fondue pot with various items (fresh & dried fruit, marshmallows, cookies, pretzels, etc.) for dipping. 

Chili Lime Shrimp with Chili Lime ZAS!
Yield:  1 lb.
Serving:  4 
Prep Time:  2 mins.
Cook Time:  4 mins.                                   
Total Time:  20 mins.
 

Ingredients:      
¼ cup Extra virgin olive oil         
2 T Lime juice    
1 T Chili Lime ZAS!
1 lb. Shrimp, raw, peeled & deveined     
6-8  Skewers, ~10 inches                       
 

Instructions:
1. In a small bowl, combine oil, lime juice, and ZAS! Chili Lime until well mixed.  Place marinade and shrimp in a zip-top, resealable plastic bag, making sure that the shrimp are evenly coated.  Set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.  Remove shrimp from marinade and thread 3-4 shrimp onto each skewer, removing any excess marinade.  
3. Grill for 1-2 minutes per side, depending on size, until just cooked.  Serve immediately.  
Tips:

If cooking on a grill, soak skewers for 5-10 minutes before use.
Shrimp can also be sautéed. 
If desired, serve with extra lime wedges.
