SAN ANTONIO – It has the feel of tennis, but the ease of ping pong — that’s what’s making pickleball grow in popularity.
Pickleball, a mix of tennis, racquetball and ping pong, is the fastest growing sport in not only the United States, but the world.
Ed Beyster, owner of the Windcrest Tennis and Pickleball Center, said the game is useful for senior citizens because it is slower than tennis but it still provides good exercise.
A big mix of demographics take part in the game, as it’s a social sport that is inexpensive and requires minimal gear.
