Exercising and taking care of your health goes beyond physical appearance -- experts say it also helps with mental health and overall well-being.

If you are having difficulty losing weight or just want to try something new, Orangetheory Fitness offers heart-rate-based interval training, backed by the science of EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen consumption) leading to the afterburn effect.

Listed below are some of the key fitness areas the fitness center provides members:

Rowing

Every stroke on the rower activates 85% of your body’s muscles to help you improve endurance, strength and power.

Cardio

Whether you walk, jog or run, you’ll go at your own pace based on your fitness level. Orangetheory also have bikes and striders available as alternates to the treadmill.

Strength training

Orangetheory’s weight and floor exercises change daily so you can focus on different muscles. Your coach can provide options for any movement if you have injuries or limitations.

The 5 Heart Rate Zones

During our heart-rate-based HIIT workout, your coach will guide you through your five different heart rate zones: resting, easy, challenging, uncomfortable and telling you when to push harder and when to pull back for recovery. The goal is to spend 12 minutes or more with your heart rate elevated in “The Orange Zone” to boost your metabolism, burn fat and burn more calories.

Most members lose 5-8 lbs/month following the Orangetheory program according to the business.

Orangetheory is a workout for all fitness levels. There are more than 55 classes/week at convenient locations all around San Antonio with no long-term contracts.
