Big Adventure October: Skylight Balloon Festival

SAN ANTONIO – Get ready to have a fun-filled family adventure this weekend that you will never forget!

The RE/MAX Skylight Balloon Fest is a high flying event featuring 16 magnificent hot air balloons.  

The RE/MAX Skylight Balloon Fest starts Friday, October, 27, and goes through Sunday, October, 29 at the River City Community Church Grounds in Selma. 

This is a great opportunity for families to take amazing photos for the holiday season.

"We have balloons glow at night, balloon competitions in the morning, food trucks, concerts, inflatable carnivals, plus arts and crafts," The Chamber President, Maggie Titterington said.

"You name it. It's a totally family fun event." 

Experience 'Balloon Glow'

Get ready to be blown away by the magic of the beautiful hot air balloons glowing with propane lighting up in the night, on Friday and Saturday.

"It's the most magnificent light show," Titterington said. "It's gorgeous. It's something you have to experience if you've never seen it before." 

You can even tell your kids they will see "Spider-Pig" from The Simpsons as one of the featured balloons.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Now is the time to check riding in a hot air balloon off your bucket list!

You can ride in a tethered hot air balloon on both Friday and Saturday.

This will be a cash only event. Adult tickets are $20 and kids 6 years and up at least 48 inches tall are $10.

Skydiving

There will be a RE/MAX Texas skydiving team that will fly down from the sky at 6:30 p.m. Friday & Saturday with the American and Texas flag.

To make it even more patriotic, the National Anthem will be playing in the background. 

Admission

Entry is $20 per vehicle up to 5 passengers, and $30 for 6-8 passengers on Friday and Saturday.

Admission will be free on Sunday.

All admission is cash only. 

Schedule

• Friday, October 27, the event is open to the public at 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
• Saturday, October 28, the gates are open from 7-10 a.m. for the balloon competition
• Saturday, the gates will reopen at 4:00 p.m. for the evening festivities
• Sunday, October 29, the gates will open at 6:30 a.m. and conclude at noon
