Texas A&M to start school year with new dorms, student and military initiatives

SAN ANTONIO – More and more college students are choosing Texas A&M University San Antonio, one of the fastest growing universities in the state.

Over 6,600 students are enrolled to start this fall, and study in more than 30 undergraduate and graduate programs at the fully comprehensive, four-year University.

David Perryman, Director of Marketing and Communications, said that represents a 21% growth just over last fall.

In addition to that kind of growth, Perryman said the University is undergoing a transformation with more than half a dozen construction projects currently underway.

That includes ‘Esperanza Hall,’ the University’s first residential hall that will house approximately 380 students.

It has amenities such as a fitness center, arcade, billiards and private study pods.

Another is the ‘Science and Technology’ building slated to be finished in the fall of 2018.

It will house the Kinesiology & natural sciences programs.
