San Antonio Tricentennial Committee to announce first licensed product

Event to include wine, olive oil tasting, unveiling of Tricentennial branding

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Tricentennial Committee is expected to announce its first licensed product at an event that will include wine and olive oil tasting.

Organizers said the new licensed products, in partnership with Spanish company Aldonza Gourmet, will be revealed Thursday.

Aldonza wines and olive oil are the first licensed products by the Tricentennial, which recognizes Spain as the first European country to develop and name San Antonio and reflecting the impact of the Spanish culture on the city, organizers said.

Ambassador Enric Panes is expected to further highlight the city's relationship with Spain with the presentation of an award to former Secretary of State Hope Andrade, organizers said.

Thursday's event will also feature a flamenco guitarist and unveiling of tricentennial label paintings.

The event will take place at Hilton Palacio del Rio, located at El Mirador Ballroom, 22nd floor at 200 S. Alamo St.

San Antonio will mark its 300th anniversary in 2018. For more information, visit sanantonio300.org.
