Report: Mark Smith to leave Judson for Madison

Smith to take over at Madison for Jim Streety

At least two sources have confirmed to KSAT Sports that Mark Smith is expected to leave Judson High School to become the new head football coach at Madison High School.

The move is reportedly pending approval of the North East Independent School District Board of Trustees.

Smith has been the head coach at Judson for two seasons after he left Kerrville Tivy where he coached Johnny Manziel and led the Tivy program for a decade.

Smith was 8-4 in his first season at Judson and 11-2 last season, but has grown frustrated with the current administration in Converse, according to a source.

Smith would take over for Jim Streety, who left Madison after 23 seasons to become the athletic director in the New Braunfels Independent School District.
