US, Mexico name rosters for Alamodome showdown

US, Mexico to meet in friendly Wednesday at Alamodome

SAN ANTONIO – The United States and Mexican national soccer federations have named their rosters for Wednesday's showdown at the Alamodome.

The rosters for both nations are mostly comprised of players that compete in Liga MX and MLS because the friendly matchup occurs outside of an official FIFA international fixture date.

The game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Central Time. This will be the 64th edition of the Mexico-US rivalry.

Mexico is currently ranked 18th in the latest FIFA rankings while the United States is ranked 27th.

Here is the US roster by position with club teams in parenthesis:

Goalkeepers: Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), William Yarbrough (Club Leon)

Defenders: Ventura Alvarado (Club America), Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Greg Garza (Club Tijuana), Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy), Michael Orozco (Puebla), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), DeAndre Yedlin (Tottenham Hotspur)
