BEREA, Ohio – Johnny Manziel's elbow soreness isn't going away, and the Browns quarterback will likely sit out Saturday's exhibition at Tampa Bay, the Associated Press has learned.

Manziel did not throw at practice following an MRI that showed no structural damage. Head coach Mike Pettine said the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner has dealt with elbow issues dating back to his time in high school at Kerrville Tivy.

Last season as a rookie, Manziel threw only 35 passes completing 18 with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions in limited action.

The Cleveland Browns open their season Sept. 13 on the road versus the New York Jets.
