2 baseball players injured after crashing into each other Monday night

SAN ANTONIO – Two Corpus Christi Hooks players were injured Monday night in a game against the San Antonio Missions.

In the bottom of the first inning, Danry Vasquez and Mott Hyde were both going for the ball in the left field when they ran into each other.

Hyde’s head was slammed into Vasquez’ left leg.

Hyde did not move and appeared to be convulsing after the hit to his head. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Team officials said he suffered a concussion.

Vasquez sustained a knee injury.
