Sterns is a 4-star recruit who holds offers from more than 10 universities, including Texas, Oklahoma and Michigan.

He also holds an offer from Oklahoma State, where his older brother Jordan, has become an All-Big 12 conference player.

Sterns told me via Twitter LSU has been his dream school and some of his favorite players are former Tigers standout Tyrann Mathieu and junior LSU defensive back Jamal Adams.

Sterns’ decision comes a day after LSU named Ed Orgeron as its permanent head football coach.

All verbal commitments are non-binding until national signing day which is held annually in February.

Sterns and the Steele Knights play Churchill Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Alamodome in the 6A Division II Region IV championship.
