SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was named Western Conference Coach of the Month for games played in February, the NBA announced on Wednesday.
The Spurs went 8-2 in February, including the annual Rodeo Road Trip where the Spurs won six of eight games.

San Antonio averaged 104.2 points in February while holding opponents to 94 points per game, the best in the NBA.
Popovich passed Jerry Sloan for the most wins by a coach with one team in NBA history on Feb. 4 against Denver. It was Popovich’s 1,128th victory with San Antonio.
The Spurs also secured a winning road record for the 20th straight season with a win at Philadelphia on Feb. 8.
The Spurs beat Indiana on Feb. 13 to secure a winning season for the 20th straight year, the longest streak in NBA history.
Popovich has now won 17 NBA Coach of the Month awards in his career, the most of any coach in league history.
Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra was named NBA Head Coach of the Month in the Eastern Conference.
