SAN ANTONIO – Texas State released its 2017 football schedule that features an 8-game Sun Belt conference slate and key non-conference games against UTSA and Colorado.
The Bobcats open the season at home in San Marcos against Houston Baptist on Sept. 2 and then travel to play at Colorado on Sept. 9. Colorado played in last season’s Valero Alamo Bowl.
The Bobcats renew their football rivalry with UTSA on Sept. 23 in San Marcos.
The universities are located only 54 miles apart, but have not played one another in football since 2012. It will be the first time UTSA has played at Bobcat Stadium.
Key conference games include the home opener against Appalachian State on Sept. 16, ULM at home on Oct. 7 and road games against Louisiana on Oct. 12, Arkansas State on Nov. 18 and Troy on Nov. 25.
The Bobcats are looking to rebound from a 2-win season in Everett Withers’ first year as Texas State head coach. The full schedule with dates is below.
