SAN ANTONIO – Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, is having an NBA Finals watch party and Tim Duncan is on the guest list.

In the second TV spot for the upcoming Marvel movie “Spiderman: Homecoming,” Peter Parker is seen waiting at an elevator until Happy Hogan – Stark’s closest friend – appears and asks Spiderman to make a quick trip for Duncan.

“Oh, perfect timing. I need you to go downtown and get me snacks for Tim Duncan,” Hogan says.

“But Happy (Hogan), the game is starting,” Parker responds.

“You’re faster than delivery … now remember it’s for Tim Duncan, so nothing fancy just fundamentals,” Hogan said.

In the first TV spot that aired during Thursday night’s Game 1 between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors, Hogan asks Stark to sign off on the NBA Finals watch party guest list.

Even though Duncan never makes an appearance in any of the two TV spots, fans can assume the Spurs’ legend is upstairs enjoying the party while watching the NBA finals with other Marvel superheroes.

It’s no surprise Duncan’s name was starred in the TV spot, as he is known to be a huge comic book fan with his favorite being Marvel’s “The Punisher.”

Spurs and NBA fans alike will also remember that Duncan and his automotive shop “BlackJack Speed Shop” were featured on the front cover of “The Punisher” comic book in 2014.

During his legendary 19-year career, Duncan wore custom-made knee braces that displayed his love for his favorite comic book character and other Marvel heroes.

It’s uncertain if the namedrop hints at the possibility of Duncan making a debut in one of the TV spots for the new Spiderman movie, but one thing is certain: Duncan is once again making an impression in the NBA Finals.
