SAN ANTONIO – The Clark Cougars are looking to bounce back in District 28-6A and make the playoffs this season.
Head coach Steve McGhee and the Cougars return 12 starters from a team that went 4-6 last season.
Among the returning starters on offense is running back Kenneth Bivins who had 536 yards rushing and 411 yards receiving with 10 touchdowns.
The offense will also be anchored by highly recruited tight end Ben Sims, who is verbally committed to Baylor.
The defense is led in part by cornerback Austin Branard who had 46 tackles last season.
Clark opens its season Aug. 31 against rival Churchill in the annual Gucci Bowl game.
