Valero Alamo Bowl introduces new hardware, new contest for a chance to win $100,000

SAN ANTONIO – The Valero Alamo Bowl President, Derrick Fox, showed off the bowl's new hardware Friday. In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Valero Alamo Bowl officials are introducing a new model of the champion trophy.

“We are really excited about the new design. You can see the little subtle touches of the Alamo in it, some are front and center, and others are a little more intricate. It’s really a unique model and shows what the Valero Alamo Bowl is all about,” Fox said.

The trophy weighs about 10 pounds less and Fox said he hopes that makes it a little easier for the coaches and winning team to lift up.

The shiny new trophy isn’t the only new element the Valero Alamo Bowl is introducing this anniversary year. There is also a chance for one fan to win $100,000 in the new Bracket Bowl Challenge.

If you can guess all 40 winners of each bowl game, the money is yours.

To enter the contest, go to https://www.alamobowl.com/ and create your bracket.

If no one correctly guesses all 40 winners, the person who gets the closest will win four tickets to the Valero Alamo Bowl game and four field passes.

Fox says they'd love to see someone pick all 40 matches and win the $100,000 cash prize.
