BGC Game of the Week Preview 2018: Clemens vs Reagan

The Big Game in KSAT 12’S Big Game Coverage in Week 3 of the high school football season will feature the Clemens Buffaloes and the Reagan Rattlers.

The Buffaloes have moved up to No. 4 in 12’s top 12 after winning their first two games of the season — a 23-20 victory over the Madison Mavericks to kickoff their season and a 27-0 route over the MacArthur Brahmas last week on the road.

“Reagan is a good team, “ said Quinton Mayberry, Clemens' senior defensive end. “They are pretty big. They are one of the biggest teams I’ve seen so far.”

The Reagan Rattlers dropped to No. 8 in 12’s top 12 after suffering their first loss of the season against the Steele Knights. In that game, the Rattlers traded touchdowns with the Knights all evening long, but eventually, Steele would prevail with a 35-30 victory.  Reagan wide receiver Konner Fox had three touchdown receptions, giving him a total of four on the year.

“We need to bounce back,” Fox said. “We need to go into district with a win. We need to play right, play as a team, to be able to do that.”

Fox’s teammate, Dylan Charlton, a senior safety for the Rattlers, echoed similar sentiments.

“This game is going to be really great for us,” Charlton said. “It’s going to be really exciting because we are coming off a tough loss, and we are all hungry to get back on the field to make up for what we did.”

We will find out when 4-Clemens meets 8-Reagan this Friday night at Comalander Stadium. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
