New coach, familiar name: Will Kirchhoff takes over Falls City football

Falls City football has a new head coach, but the name remains the same.

Will Kirchhoff has returned home to take over for his father, Mark Kirchhoff. Will was an all-state quarterback at Falls City, playing for his father. The younger Kirchhoff is a 2010 graduate of Falls City High School.

The Beavers went 8-4 last season, advancing to the second round of the state playoffs. They have six starters returning on both sides of the ball. But since they’re a Class 2A team, many of the players play on both sides of the ball.

Falls City competes in District 15-2A-II and is predicted to win the district crown, per Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

The Battlin’ Beavers will kick off the season Friday, Aug. 28, at Johnson City.
