2017 BGC Preview: Navarro Panthers

GERONIMO, Texas – The Navarro Panthers have established themselves as a powerhouse in Class 4A and are looking to win a state title this year.

The Panthers are coming off a great season where they finished 14-1 overall and advanced to the state semifinals.

That playoff run included a thrilling region championship victory over fellow 4A power Cuero.

Navarro returns seven starters from that squad including senior quarterback Will Eveld.

Eveld passed for nearly 1,500 yards and accounted for 21 touchdowns last season, and leads a strong rushing attack along with Tyler Law and Will Reyna.

Navarro kicks off its season Sept. 1 at Giddings.
